Blister strip coil & assembly

One integrated manufacturing solution.

Blister filling, coiling and inhaler device assembly.

Bringing a Dry Powder Inhaler (DPI) to market is more complex than ever. Manufacturers must navigate multiple stages of production, from blister strip forming, filling and sealing through to strip coiling, device assembly and commercial scale-up. Traditionally, these processes have required multiple technology suppliers, increasing project complexity and creating additional challenges around integration, technology transfer and scale-up.

We partnered with Mikron Automation to provide a fully integrated DPI manufacturing solution, combining our blister filling technology with Mikron’s proven strip handling and high-speed device assembly capabilities. Together, we provide a continuous manufacturing pathway from clinical development through to commercial production, helping customers reduce technical risk and accelerate their route to market without compromising process reliability.

Commercial scale

Up to 240 strips/minute - 80 device/minute

Ideal for: Generics and pharma manufacturers

Blister strip form, fill and seal

DPI Blister Filler: Commercial scale

  • Optimised pellet compression, supports effective aerosolisation, maximising emitted dose

  • A controlled filling and ejection process helps prevent contamination of the blister web, reducing the risk of downstream sealing issues

  • Consistent device CQAs ensure your product consistently meets the Critical Quality Attributes (CQAs) required of the finished device

Coil & assemble

G05 commercial platform

    • Provides an efficient solution for commercial manufacture, using the same core manufacturing principles employed in clinical production systems.

    • Proven blister strip handling and coiling
    • Robust assembly processes

Clinical scale

Up to 30 strips/minute - 80 devices/minute

Ideal for: Generics and pharma manufacturers undergoing clinical development - Engineering builds, Process validation and Early product launch.

DPI Blister Filler: Clinical-scale Rotary Turret

Achieve accurate, clean powder dosing with our DPI Blister Filler, designed for R&D and clinical-stage pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Built for teams developing dry powder inhalers (DPIs), this benchtop system delivers consistent dose accuracy and de-risks your clinical process. The fundamental process has been designed with scalability in mind and is scalable from lab-scale all the way to high-speed commercial production.

Coil & assemble

G05 clinical platform

Mikron's G05 solution uses proven processes for blister strip handling, coiling, forming and assembly. The processes used at clinical scale are also employed for high volume assembly lines, giving robust and reliable solutions. This system is ideal for up to 12 devices/minute.

Built to scale together

The real advantage of the partnership lies in the continuity between technologies.

Forming, filling and sealing work completed on our solutions transition seamlessly into Mikron Automation's downstream assembly systems using aligned manufacturing principles, reducing technical risk and simplifying scale-up. Rather than managing multiple suppliers and disconnected technologies, customers benefit from one coordinated solution designed to support every stage of DPI manufacturing.
